To the Press!

The blog has been silent for a spell.  This due only to the fact that so much is going on, and there are so many things that could be addressed.

We are so overburdened with information and opinion.  We seem not to be able to listen to one another with genuine love, actually to ‘hear’ what our friend or neighbor is saying.  And yes, I said ‘we’, a 1st person pronoun.

So, I went on ‘radio silence’ for a bit.

I am one who does think that the constitutional republic founded by a collection of men who were able, after having fought a revolution against the biggest world power, to come together for about a year to hammer out the details of our constitution and the resulting form of our government.  Immediately thereafter, about a year and a half, the bill of rights as we know it was finally ratified.

Were all of these men ‘christian’ men?  No.  But a great deal of them were.  But, our modern version of christianity differed from what they knew, and many of them had become part of the ‘age of reason’, and had very ‘unbiblical’ views of the faith.  But, most of them yet had a great deal of respect for individual and communal faith, and for the Creator, as seen in the preamble, and as seen in George Washington’s first act as president of the United States.

The attack on our constitutional republic is the overt war we are now in, whereas the attack on truth through subterfuge and deceit has been going on since our inception.  What I mean is this: spiritually, our country has been in a battle of morals since the beginning. It was believers in Messiah who first formed the Republican Party and started the abolitionist movement.  They rightly determined that slavery was an egregious sin, and that it was a scourge on our Republic.  And even though the south held far more slaves, and the vast majority of them at the time of the civil war, it was only a small handful of elites in the South, roughly 6 percent, which included Whites, Jews, AND Blacks, who owned slaves.  If we include the northern states, then only 1.4% of free people owned slaves.  This is NOT stated to diminish the horror of chattel slavery.  I am one that believes the scriptures, that one is NOT to enslave another human, nor to treat them as sub-human property.  And that is what chattel slavery is.  And the practice was committed by christians and Jews, and defended AND opposed by christian and Jewish leaders.  It took years of public conversation and an eventual war in order to purge the country of this atrocity.  And from 1860 to 1933 every president was a Republican.

What many people are not aware of, however, is that before the revolution, there was “The Great Awakening“, which many believe led to the revolution.  During that time, the Declaration of Independence was penned, which reads in part:  ‘the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them….. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights … appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions … And for the support of this Declaration, with firm reliance on the Protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor’ …

And before the Civil War there was “The Second Great Awakening“, which many people believe led to the Civil War and the Emancipation Proclamation after the Civil War. During that time, when President William Henry Harrison died in office, the next President, President John Tyler, declared a National Day of Fasting, stating on April 13, 1841: “When a Christian people feel themselves to be overtaken by a great public calamity, it becomes them to humble themselves under the dispensation of Divine Providence.”

And before 1900, many believe there was a ‘Third Great Awakening”.  And during that time, the Supreme Court justice, James Brewer, writing the majority opinion on a major case brought before the highest court, wrote: “While the separation of church and state is often affirmed, there is nowhere a repudiation of Christianity as one of the institutions as well as benedictions of society. In short, there is no charter or constitution [among the several states] that is either infidel, agnostic, or anti-Christian. Wherever there is a declaration in favor of any religion it is of the Christian … I could show how largely our laws and customs are based upon the laws of Moses and the teachings of Christ; how constantly the Bible is appealed to as the guide of life and the authority in question of morals.”

Each of these were periods of a re-invigoration of FAITH among the American general public, and each period is rife with political statements about the veracity and necessity of FAITH in the Creator.  The general public came to conclude that the scriptures of holy writ common to both the Jewish and Christian faiths were foundational to the Constitution and the Republic it formed.  So widely held was this belief, that BHO had to say in 2014 that America is ‘no longer’ a Christian nation.  He may be right.

Why do I say that? Because the godless now people prevail in Congress. They use the idea of faith when it suits them.  They pervert the scriptures when they can bend them to match their godlessness. Instead of encouraging faith in our society, they oppose it. And they do so overtly, allowing renegades and belligerents to ‘assemble’ to destroy, loot, and murder, while demanding that assemblies of faith cease and desist. Instead of encouraging morality, they debase the public mind, so much so that now the Supreme Court redefines the word ‘sex’, so that anyone who imagines themselves to be something other than a man or a woman is justified in forcing all of society to participate in their fantasy.

America is doomed.  Because people of faith do not exist, not in the same manner they did before the revolution, or before the Civil War, or before the turn of the 20th century, or even as they did in the 1950’s.  People of faith today blend in so much with the rest of society.  We consume godless entertainment along with the godless. We tattoo our bodies in vanity, which are supposed to be His Temple.  We dress provocatively and not modestly, and many times even in a congregational setting.  We talk disrespectfully to one another and gossip about one another as much, if not more than the godless. We commit adultery and fornication as much as the godless do, and the divorce rate in the community of faith is just as high as that of the godless. And the religious leaders do not cry out against these things. They do not raise the standard.  We have lowered the bar on righteousness, far away from the standard of Moses and of Messiah.  At the same time, many of those that do say they have a walk of faith are so far on the other side of the pendulum, that they condemn anyone with whom they do not agree doctrinally, and they act as if they have no sin whatsoever, like they are above reproach, like there is no wrongdoing on their part.

And so what is the cause of all this acceptable debauchery? What is the root of the lack of an acceptable standard of morality?  Turning away from the common belief in The Creator and Supreme Judge of the World. And for the christian community, turning away from the righteous conduct He demands, to a ‘grace’ that is accepting of every sin, where “Go and sin no more” means nothing.

Is it a coincidence, then, that the theory of evolution emerged during that last Great Awakening? As the Civil War began in America, where a just people were trying to overthrow the notion that there was a sub-human species among us that deserved to be treated as such, and just then Darwin posits that we all emerged from the same source, we, apes, bananas, birds, all of us come from some magical cosmic event. Darwin’s ‘theory’ could in fact be used to justify slavery: “Survival of the fittest”.  By casting off the notion of a CREATOR and THE CREATION, and that ALL men are CREATED equally, we cast off moral constraint.  We are no longer answerable to our CREATOR, but in fact are self-determinative, and as such can make up our own individual morality. Out of this same “intellectual” climate comes Marxism, the “will to power”, and communist nations emerged that proceeded to slaughter all who disagreed with their new ‘moral code’.  This is when man began to slip into the decay of immorality, ‘relative morality’ versus absolute morality, by casting off Judeo-Christian, biblical ethics and the common belief in the CREATOR. So much so, that in less than 150 years we now have men marrying men, and women marrying women. We have the justification of pedophilia, the acceptance of every kind of evil in the congregations.  It is staggering to think that in a country that still supposedly is predominantly christian in population, we have so much consumption of pornography and drugs, so much alcoholism, adultery, divorce, et cetera.  American christians are following in the footsteps of our European forebears in casting off the Creator and His ways, and now we are reaping the benefits of it.

The 1960s were a turning point in moral decay.  The ‘sexual revolution’ and the ‘love the one you’re with’ mentality swept the country. The creation of the welfare system, and taking prayer out of schools, came on the heels of this relative moralism being taught in the universities. And this new crowd of ‘educated’ people began to take control of the public school system, to ensure not only that children did not pray, but that they not BELIEVE!  This was part of the overall plan to ensure that the public had the mind that there was NO CREATOR and no NEED of SALVATION from sin. And then the highest court in the land decides that killing babies is more important than teaching righteousness. Since the 1970’s, we’ve sat idly by and watched the MURDER of 60,000,000 + BABIES, and have not batted an eye.

And we wonder why now, today, the Democratic party, the party of slavery, is erupting in all our major cities under the guise of ‘black lives matter’ to destroy the rule of law. All of this boils down to a great, dichotomous battle: right versus wrong.  Truth versus lies. And the community of faith refuses to speak with the voice of Messiah.  The voice of SALVATION rooted in the compassion of a SAVIOR.  Instead, we bog ourselves down in the argument of who killed whom.  We bog ourselves down in the argument of who wronged whom.  We all conveniently forget that it was whites, blacks, and Jews all sacrificing everything, being willing to and dying together to create a new REPUBLIC; we forget that it was whites, blacks, and Jews all working together to throw off slavery; we forget that it was whites, blacks, and Jews all working together to throw off Jim Crow laws. Was it EVER the ‘majority’?  No.  It always started with a small group of the courageous, who believed in the CREATOR, who knew that biblical morality should WIN.

I have a very small circle of influence.  But I pray that anyone who reads this comes to understand that we are living in the last of the last days, and that it is critical NOW to STAND UP and DECLARE that SALVATION is more dire and necessary now than it ever has been.  Shimon Kefa stood up some 1,990 years ago and declared to the Jewish people, “Save yourselves from this sinful generation.” That generation was only a hypocritical, self-righteous generation that put its trust in its own ability to keep the laws of religious men in order to save themselves. Kefa told them to trust in the one that the CREATOR, in whom they ALL believed, and sent His Son, whom they, along with the nations, executed, to save them from their sin, and that G-d, the Creator, raised the man Yeshua from the dead, to deliver all mankind from SIN. Here we sit some 2,000+ years later, and that message is rarely declared.  We, people of faith, have capitulated to the godless.  We sit idly by and allow the sins of the godless to be among us. We allow them to make our laws. We allow them to pervert our history, to destroy it. We allow them to teach our children, run our universities, and commandeer the public conversation, such that we cannot declare sin to be sin!  We allow them to call us ‘intolerant’ of the people who are intolerant of us. We allow them to scare us into NOT declaring the death, burial, and resurrection of the Messiah for the sake of SALVATION from SIN.  And we have allowed religious leaders to redefine sin and grace, so that we can run amok with the godless.

There are those who think another ‘Great Awakening’ is coming.  I can only hope; but I don’t see it. I desperately pray for it, should Messiah tarry from His return for another generation. I work toward the end of affecting the awakening of as many people as I can, praying, fasting, writing these blog posts, teaching the scriptures, ‘declaring’ His truth on social media and to any in-person encounter I may have. One soul is enough. But not.  But there is so much confusion of truth and distortion of facts, and so much lethargy of thought, that it is sometimes exasperating, to do these things. But, I HOPE.  I DECLARE. And more importantly, I “press on toward the goal to receive the prize of victory of the highest calling of Elohim through Yeshua HaMashi’akh”.  Just like Sha’ul, I have not attained to it, but I press on.

We are in the last of the last days. I cannot say precisely when Yeshua will return, nor would I dare to set a date.  I have ideas, but I know beyond a shadow of a doubt it will be sooner than later. Two passages come to mind.  One of which I read to my children back in 2001, on 9/10 at about 8:00 pm. “1Know this, that in the Akharit HaYamim [last days] disastrous times will come.  2And men shall be lovers of themselves and lovers of money, proud, conceited, blasphemers, disobedient to their own people, ungrateful, wicked, 3false accusers, addicts to lust, brutal, haters of good things, 4traitors, hasty, boasters, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of Elohim; 5having a shade of the fear of Elohim [Our Creator G-d], but far from the power of Elohim; from such turn away.  6For of this sort are those who creep into houses and captivate women sunken in sin, led away with diverse lusts, 7ever striving to learn, and never able to come to the knowledge of HaEmet [The Truth].” And then, Yeshua’s thoughts on those times: “34But take heed to yourselves that your hearts may not become heavy by extravagance and drunkenness and the worries of this world, and that day come suddenly upon you.  35For like a downpour it will entrap all those who dwell on the face of all the earth.  36Therefore keep watch always, and pray that you may be worthy to escape all these things which are to happen, and that you may stand before Ben HaAdam.”  Those ‘things’ are the ‘tribulations’ of the time of Mashi’akh HaSheker, and if ever the world was ready for a false leader, a fake Messiah, it is today.  The character of Yeshua has been so distorted, that anyone with ‘charisma’ could rise up and claim to be the Messiah, and the world would consent.  Not me.

“Repent and be immersed, every one of you, in the Name of  יהוה  Yeshua, for the remission of sins…”

    Interesting post, and as it is with most brothers in Messiah these days I agree with a lot of what you say, and disagree with some as well – anything scriptural I’m with you on – but since we’re human beings we all have our own ideas, and things we are persuaded on. I’m not interested in politics, I have no party affiliation, and I think our country has the President and rulers that it deserves. “Save yourselves from this perverse generation.”

    I’m not a teacher, I don’t desire to be one, I’m just a person who hopes he has enough faith and works to be more like Messiah. I witnessed a lot of disappointing things this year all around from our nation’s leaders to people I know and love, brothers I respect and admire. I was confronted with many confusing things that made me question a lot of my own thoughts on things. I got rid of my social media accounts with the exception of my professional networking for my job and a Twitter account to read some news on various things. “As much as depends on you, live at peace with all men”.

    The things happening right now could be part of some new “awakening” or have some strong significance, but it all seems like more “churn” to me. You are a student of history right? So you know that the stuff our nation is experiencing is nothing new. The world has been full of lawlessness. Christians used to murder Muslims and Jews indiscriminately in the name of ‘God’ – who knows who their ‘god’ really was/is. Arabs, Europeans, Romans, Greeks, Asians, Americans, – all races everywhere have been guilty of murder and slavery and all sorts of wickedness. We murder babies with “technology” – in antiquity we hear about “witchcraft” – what’s the difference? We are in tribulation now. The way we live, the things we say, the way we treat one another – these are things the world witnesses of us as individuals, and this is how they label us. This is how mainstream religion and its adherents have made a mockery of the truth and the world doesn’t take it seriously. All we can be are points of light and truth even in our “small circles of influence” and teach our children to be as well – I’m with you there.

    Racism is real – and without going into the historical slavery discussion – I have witnessed racism against black people first hand; and against Hispanic and Arab and Persian and Asian people. Moving all over the country as we have, we have had more friends of other ethnicities and cultures than we have had of “white American” friends. We have had several Muslim friends and once had a Muslim Arab man tell me Persians, even Muslim Persians (specifically Iranians) and Egyptians were lesser peoples. I had another Arab man tell me that Arabs from another country were lesser people. I grew up in the deep south and I know the misconceptions people have about non-white ethnicities. I heard racial slurs for minorities as much as I hear the “politically correct” terms. I have firsthand heard from friends the racism and stereotypes that exists between different Asian cultures. A guy I worked with told me that I shouldn’t send my kids to a High School in one city we lived in because “it’s too dark”. Members of a church we attended in Tennessee had the notion that “interracial marriage” was sin and leadership at another church didn’t care for a preacher’s wife because she was “mixed”. The world is and has been racist – just another tool of the enemy.

    I hope some good comes out of what is happening right now in our nation and the world over in regards to that – maybe some awakening is at hand – but I also realize there is “churn” happening. “Nothing new under the sun” – “What has been will be again”. Things will likely get worse, unless God sends us a respite. All we can do is “stand firm until the end” and keep being love and shining the light of Messiah. I am sad to see all the hate and arguing and distrust and negativity that prevails in our society and among believers today – but I understand now that it will be like this and maybe even get worse the longer I am on this earth, so I am both thankful and joyful to YHWH my Elohim that through His only begotten Son Yeshua that I have hope in a true life with Him – and as another brother and I were conversing about this week – we are waiting for that clothing of Righteousness / Tzedaka as well!

    1. I don’t know if I implied racism is not real in this; certainly did not intend to do so. I think I stated that the attack on the republic began long before these race riots started. I know personally how very real racism is. All of the examples you’ve given, I’ve seen myself. But I add, I too have been the victim/object of racism, from multiple other races, including being hated by black children I did not even know nor do anything to, simply because I was white, and had to fight one of them off at about six years old while his teenage brothers stood and watched, one of them holding a bat. Including being accused of being racist by a black man who did not know me, and took a comment I made in friendship, twisted it, and accused me of being racist. Thankfully, the other black man who was with him did not agree with him, but saw his overreach concerning ‘words’. Including experiencing anti-semitism from two close friends, the moment I identified with my Jewish heritage, and being let go from a job just because I was Jewish. I also do not think this article in any way associates me with any political party directly; but, there is a distinction made between the party that helped to free the slaves, and the one that fought to the death to preserve slavery, all the way to today [they’re just using different chains today].
      I agree that there is always ‘churn’, there is always an undercurrent.
      I am indeed a historian, but I do believe that ‘some’ what we are experiencing is indeed ‘new’, but that the evil behind it certainly is not. Martin Luther King Jr. did a LOT to help our country change, and to mend fences between races, and advance the cause of black society in America. But, at the same time, LBJ and his party, and many behind the scenes, put measures in place to tear at the family unit, black AND white, and erode the moral character of this country by removing Dads from homes, removing prayers from schools, removing infants from wombs, and removing truth from the public conversation. Alinsky 101 is being played out right before our eyes. It is ‘new’ in the sense that it is in the open, and too many are BLIND to it and numb in thought that they cannot see it.

        Apologies – I didn’t mean to imply that you implied racism wasn’t real or that you associate with any political party based on your writing. Could gather from the article that that’s not the case. We have different viewpoints on some of the details, but I was more commenting on what’s happening now and chipping in my experience. Everyone has different viewpoints on different things – some people unfortunately let that form the basis of their entire opinion or truth regarding other people. Not implying anything there about you either ha. This is a non implicating comment on a non implicating comment on a non implicating blog article 🤔😂 I think this stuff is “new” for America, but not for the world as a whole. I don’t think many people hold my viewpoint, maybe I’m wrong – there are some novelties in the way things are progressing – such as the advent of social media and the internet and instant connectivity to everything happening the world over; the evil is the same – but I’m just personally waiting for the reappearance of the Son of God – the rest is background noise. I could be wrong though. This is my personal opinion – which I rarely share – but it’s interesting times we live in 🤷‍♂️
