Lies, believe you

Ma’Asei [Acts] 21-22 reveals quite a bit about “Pavlos” [Sha’ul “also called” Paul] and all believers in Messiah in his day…

First, in these verses we see that he was still a keeper of Torah, and that as they lie today about him that he was not, they did then as well…

“Our brother, see how many thousands there are in Y’huda who are believers, and they are all zealous for the Torah: but they have been informed about you that you teach all the Y’hudim who are among the Goyim to forsake the Torah of Moshe, stating that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to follow after the customs of the Torah. ………then everyone will know that what has been said against you [Sha’ul] is a LIE, and that you [Sha’ul also called Paul] yourself uphold the Torah and OBEY IT.” [present tense]

In these verses we learn that Sha’ul and all of Jerusalem spoke HEBREW! NOT greek, as it has been forced on the community of faith to believe for the last 1700 years.

“And when he had given him permission, Pavlos stood on the stairs and beckoned with his hand to them. And when they were quiet he spoke to them in THE HEBREW LANGUAGE and said to them: “Brethren and fathers, hear my defense which I now make to you.” And when they heard him speak to them in THE HEBREW LANGUAGE, they were the more quiet.”

Here in this next verse we see that “Ananias,” the one who gave Sha’ul back his sight and immersed him into the faith of Messiah, is seen as a TORAH KEEPER! This is a believer in Yeshua the Messiah who kept Torah! And ALL of his peers knew that about him [because they did too, and expected it of each other.]

“And a certain man, Khanan-Yah, righteous according to the TORAH, as testified by all the Y’hudim concerning him….”

In this next verse, we see that the BELIEVERS in Yeshua assembled in the SYNAGOGUE!! Would Sha’ul LIE to Messiah Yeshua in prayer, deceive him, or misrepresent HIS followers to Him?

“And I said, ‘Adonai, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every Beit K’nesset those who believed in you.”

“Shema, Yisra’el”

  1. Wow, I blogged about lies this week, as well. The Pharisees had to “set up”–pay–liars who testified that they had heard Stephen (and others) perverting the Torah. The reason was that the Torah required that anyone who had witnessed falsely against someone received the punishment of that crime they had accused them of–in this case, blasphemy–death by stoning. They paid a couple of rubes to sing and fly. I’m sure they beat feet outta there so the Pharisees also couldn’t cover their tracks by some “unfortunate accident.”

Frankly, we know that the church was still keeping Sabbath by 325AD because BECAUSE Constantine had the folks at Nicea rule for it. He send an edict throughout the realm that Sabbath worship was then illegal. He wouldn’t have had to do that had they already abandoned Sabbath as “changed.”

And Paul testifies of himself as still keeping Torah in Acts 24:14. He went to the synagogues everywhere he went. That wasn’t for the Jews; that was for gentiles who had come to faith and were already seeking the truth of Torah. Folks who still claim he abjured it obviously haven’t read the entirety, just their little bowl of “cherries.” 🙂

I believe this phrase sums up the #1 reason that Abba has me at Bat-Tzion. And that is for the fervent pursuit of Truth in light of the world that Messiah and the patriarchs lived in.
A Westernized Gospel does little good to most people, and where it hurts the most, IMO, is the perverted understanding that many people get when they read Yeshua’s words in Luke 14: 27
Whoever does not carry his own execution-stake and come after me cannot be My talmid. 28 “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Don’t you sit down and estimate the cost, to see if you have enough capital to complete it?
The cost was enormous in that day to follow Yeshua and He certainly has not lowered His standard for any of us.
He desires ALL of us… period!
Whatever, and whoever captures our heart behind our Savior, needs to be such a distant second place to Yeshua that we will need binoculars to spot it.
